1. GENERAL 概述
A.The Boeing Standard Overhaul Practices Manual (SOPM), Document D6-51702, contains a Title Page, a Revision Record Page, a List of Effective Pages, a Table of Contents, and the individual standard overhaul practices manuals. These manuals are prepared by Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group.
B.Each individual manual contains a Title Page, List of Effective Pages, Table of Contents, and the technical data for standard practices used during the overhaul of Boeing proprietary components. The technical data supplements data contained in the component-specific Boeing Commercial Jet Overhaul and Component Maintenance Manuals.
C.The technical data is collected from Boeing Process Specifications. Details are added or changed with service experience. The data is general. It is not about all situations or specific installations. Use it to help you write minimum standards.
D.Throughout the overhaul instructions, in the SOPM as well as in the component-related overhaul instructions, appears the phrase “standard industry practices.” This can be defined as follows:

(1)Those practices which are within the limits of “good engineering practice.”

2. MANUAL IDENTIFICATION 手册识别
A.We put the manuals into different groups because of the different types of data. Each manual has a special manual number.
由于不同的数据类型,我们将手册分成不同的组。每本手册都有一个特别指定的手册号。
B.Each manual number has six digits, in three two-digit parts.
每个手册号有6位数,由3个两位数组成。
(1)The first part is 20 as specified by Air Transport Association Specification 100 for standard practices.
按ATA 100规范规定,标准施工的手册号前两位是20。
(2)The second part is the section number, and puts the manuals into groups. Each group is about a different type of data, as follows:

(3)The third part is assigned in numerical sequence. It identifies one individual manual; that is, all pages about a specified subject.

3. LISTS OF EFFECTIVE PAGES 有效页清单
A.Each individual manual has a list of effective pages (LEP). The LEP is a list of all pages in that manual with the date of the latest revision to each page. This list will show if your copy of that manual contains the latest pages.
B.The SOPM Front Matter Introduction has a numerical index of the manuals in the SOPM, equivalent to a traditional Table of Contents, which gives the date of the latest revision for each individual manual, which will show if your copy of the LEP for a manual is up to date.
C.The SOPM Front Matter Introduction LEP shows the latest date of the index pages, which will tell you if your copy of the Table of Contents is up to date.

4. SOURCE DOCUMENT CROSS-REFERENCE 源文件交叉参考
A.Some of the manuals include procedures from Boeing Process Specifications and other source documents. Here is a list of these source documents and their equivalent SOPM subjects. This list does not include source documents which are only referenced in the manuals.
