七、部件原理

A. Engine Inlet Thermal Anti-Ice (TAI) Valves

(1) The engine inlet TAI valve controls the flow of engine bleed air into the TAI ducts. One valve is on the top part of each engine.The valve is electrically controlled, pneumatically operated, and is set to keep duct air pressure between 20-28 psi.

(2) An indicator on the valve shows if the valve vane is CLOSED or NOT CLOSED. A person can manually operate the valve and lock it at the fully open or fully closed position.

(3) When the TAI valve solenoid is energized, it opens an upstream air passage to the actuator diaphragm. Upstream air pressure becomes more than the forces of the return spring and the closing diaphragm.The actuator diaphragm opens the valve vane.

(4) When the TAI valve solenoid is not energized, it closes the upstream air passage to the actuator diaphragm. The actuator diaphragm is opened to ambient air. Upstream air pressure on the closing diaphragm and the return spring close the valve vane. Upstream air pressure keeps the valve vane in the closed position.

(5) The pilot pressure regulator gets input from the downstream (regulated) pressure. If downstream pressure is more than the adjustment setting of the pilot regulator, a valve bleeds off the actuator diaphragm pressure. The closing diaphragm and return spring partially close the valve vane.

1. Description

A. The Cowl Anti-Ice 3 1/2 Inch Control Valve Assembly is an electrically controlled, pneumatically operated valve that controls the hot air directed to the engine cowl. The valve assembly consists of a body, vane, and switch assembly; solenoid assembly; housing assembly; pilot housing assembly; a cylinder assembly; and diaphragm assembly.

B. The body, vane, and switch assembly connects in the hot air duct. The body assembly encloses the vane, the upstream control air port, and provides mounting pads for the switch assembly and the housing assembly. The switch assembly provides electrical vane position signals to the connector mounted in the housing assembly.

C. The housing assembly is mounted on the body assembly and contains the solenoid, pilot housing assembly, and the cylinder and diaphragm assembly. The housing assembly also contains the air ports and internal air and wiring passages.

D. The cylinder and diaphragm are connected to the vane by a shaft and linkage. The diaphragm is moved by upstream air pressure and a spring.

E. The pilot housing assembly compares downstream air pressure with preset condition for regulation.

F. The solenoid assembly is 28 VDC continuous duty and is connected to the connector by wiring.

2. Operation

A. The Cowl Anti-Ice 3 1/2 Inch Control Valve Assembly is normally closed. It is held closed by a spring acting against the diaphragm and by upstream control air. The control air is also vented through a fixed orifice to atmosphere.

B. When the solenoid is energized, it closes the control air venting directing the control air to the diaphragm. The control air acting against the diaphragm overcomes spring load and moves the diaphragm which opens the vane. The control valve is now in a regulating mode.

C. The pilot housing assembly compares downstream air pressure with a preset value. When the downstream air pressure exceeds the preset value, a poppet opens venting the control air to atmosphere. The spring loaded diaphragm closes the vane. When the downstream air pressure is reduced below the preset value, the poppet closes which allows the upstream control air to again move the diaphragm and open vane. The switch assembly indicates whether the vane is “CLOSED” or “NOT CLOSED.”

D. The control valve can be manually operated and locked to the fully open of fully closed position.

九、在飞机系统中的工作原理及互联

A. Engine bleed air removes ice from the engine inlets. The system has these components:

(1) Engine inlet thermal (TAI) anti-ice valves

(2) Pressure switches

(3) Engine inlet thermal anti-ice ducts

(4) Engine inlet thermal anti-ice overheat temperature switches

(5) Wing and engine anti-ice control panel.

B. System electrical power is from the left and right main DC buses, through circuit breakers found on the overhead circuit breaker panel, P11.

C. System electrical power is usually from the 28v dc standby bus, and the right main bus, through circuit breakers found on the overhead circuit breaker panel, P11. If no power is available on the right main bus, system electrical power will come from the 28v dc battery bus.

D. The use of the thermal anti-ice system for the wing or the engine cowl will change the engine pressure ratio (EPR). The two EPR values will decrease if the left or the right engine air is used by the anti-ice system (PW: PAGEBLOCK 77-12-00/001).

A. Functional Description

(1) When you put an ENGINE ANTI ICE switch to the on position the amber VALVE light for that engine comes on. Two seconds later, the cowl TAI valve control time delay (T/D) relay closes and the TAI valve opens. The amber VALVE light goes off after the valve opens.

(2) The amber VALVE light below the switch comes on when the valve’s position disagrees with its commanded position. The EICAS display shows a ENG ANTI-ICE message.

(3) If the duct pressure is more than 30 psi, the pressure switch closes, and the EICAS display shows the message, ENG TAI VALVE.

(4) If the temperature in an engine compartment is more than 250 degrees F the engine inlet TAI overheat temperature switch opens. The engine inlet TAI valve closes. The EICAS display shows the messages, L(R) COWL DUCT LEAK and L(R) ENG TAI VALVE. The amber VALVE light comes on.
